Individual therapy

If you’re feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in old patterns that no longer serve you, you’re not alone. Our individual therapy is a collaborative and deeply supportive process that helps you reconnect with your body, gain sense of safety, and move toward lasting healing.

We know that trauma, stress, and systemic pressure shape how we show up in the world and that healing requires more than just talk. It asks for care, curiosity, and a space where your full self is welcomed.

At Tides Center for Wellness, therapy is paced with intention and grounded in respect for your story. Together, you and your therapist will work to:

  • Gently attune to your nervous system and cultivate safety from the inside out

  • Identify what’s been held in the body like grief, fear, strength, or resilience, and process it at a pace that honors your capacity

  • Reconnect with parts of yourself that have been pushed aside, dismissed, or overwhelmed

  • Clarify what healing looks like for you, and begin to move toward it

Sessions are offered via secure telehealth to clients across Louisiana and Mississippi. For some, healing sessions may also take place sitting under a tree or walking a quiet path. Discuss with your therapist about sessions in natural settings like local parks or in-office.

If you’re longing for grounded support, embodied healing, and a therapist who holds your story with care and accountability, we invite you to begin here.

FAQ’s

  • Whether you face short-term life stress or a chronic mental health condition, therapy can help you reach your personal goals! Many people today are seeking out additional support as multiple overlapping traumas affect our communities and daily living. We offer professional assistance and evidence-based techniques to aid you in advancing towards wellness and recovery. We have seen the power of therapy support individuals to grow and heal.

  • Confidentiality is central to the therapeutic relationship. Additionally, laws and professional ethics require confidentiality except in rare situations related to maintaining safety. Part of your initial session will include paperwork and a discussion of your rights and responsibilities related to your services, called "informed consent."

  • We are currently able to bill insurance an an out of net work provider only. Many insurance providers have out-of-network benefits that cover psychotherapy. We are happy to provide you with a superbill. Some clients will receive a portion of therapy fees reimbursed to them from their insurance companies. If you have questions about why we are not billing as an in network provider, read this article.

  • We provide services for private pay participants. We provide a breakdown for individual service costs in our Insurance & Fees section.

  • You can access a good faith estimate on request when engaging in services. In addition, you have the right to a good faith estimate of the cost of services under the federal No Surprises Act. You'll have access to that before you receive any services or are billed. Most of the time, it is impossible to predict how many sessions you will need. We determine this in collaboration after the initial intake assessment and during your sessions. It also depends on your progress, which is partly influenced by your work and new things that may come up. You can also end services at any point in line with your consent to services.

The No Surprises Law states that you may start a dispute if the actual charges are significantly higher than the good faith estimates, like if you're charged $500 more than the estimated session cost or for the total estimate provided. However, in this setting, it's unlikely for this to happen since all actual charges per session are paid at the time of service. For more information, click here.
